Description
7 Core PVC Insulated Automotive Multi Core Cable is a flexible general purpose cable for low voltage applications on
vehicle and trailer wiring systems.
Applications
Cable insulation :
Automotive grade PVC with resistance to fuels, oils and greases.
Cable specification standard :
BS6862 part 1 published March 1971 relates to cables with copper conductors (standard now withdrawn)
Copper cored cables : The conductor is specified by cross sectional area in mm sq.
Cable Routing
Always route vehicle cables to avoid chaffing of insulation against moving parts of machinery.
Circuit Protection
Always fit adequate fuses or circuit protector to protect the cable against wiring short circuit or overload.
Calculate the correct size of cable required using Ohms law and take account of voltage drop over distance of cable run and temperature or environment where cable is placed. Derate cable accordingly.
